5 Tips for Creating Good Content on Google

great contentGetting your site ranked on Google’s first page for a specific keyword is not easy but you have to start somewhere right? The foundation for any website is it?s content and writing quality, fresh and original content is the best start you can take.

But remember, it’s not only about getting a site ranked, but also about visibility. ?By visibility I mean, what words is your site coming up for. Perhaps your article is that good and that relevant to specific key terms that it’s generating loads of traffic and that’s really what you want.

In order for Google and other search engines to make your site more visible, your content needs to be seen as unique and relevant to what people are searching for.

Google Loves Great Content

You may have heard the expression that ?content is king? and this is because of how highly regarded it is in the eyes of search engines.

Content provides search engine robots with information when they browse your site.? This information lets them know what your site is about, what keywords you should be ranked for and how much of an authority you are on those keywords.

A Few Rules to Writing your Content in a Blog Post

So to keep your article on track, start with a great, relevant title, and let the content of your article follow in its footsteps. ?If you have to, create an outline before writing your article just to ensure that it flows nicely and stays on topic.

Here are Some?Tips for Creating Quality?Content on Your Site

  1. Make sure that whatever information you use on your website is fresh and original. ?By original, I mean, do not copy content straight off of another website. You can take content and re-write it into your own words and of course, reference your source where required.? But take the extra time to create fresh content on a regular basis and you will reap the rewards in the long run. This is one reason why we build a blogging area into every website that we make.
  2. Be sure to use great images (nice big, high quality images), include proper tags on your images, and use them throughout your article so that you don’t just have one big block of text. It’s easier for readers, and it also improves the way that search engines score your site for usability.
  3. Include sub-headings in your articles such as Heading 2 & 3. Try only to have H1 as your title. ?You can also use Bold & Italics on words that you think are important and closely related to your topic. ?Don’t go and highlight an entire block of text because you think it looks nice. ?It can confuse readers and Google. ?So always think about the types of articles that you like to read. What caught your eye? Was it the image, the text, the colours or the content?
  4. If you don?t have the time to write unique articles or search for information to write about, you can hire?someone else to do it for you like a virtual assistant or professional copywriter, but don?t make the mistake of not updating your website.?As your competition grows you want to maintain your authority on the services and products your specialise in. ?Just ensure that you check your articles in Copyscape so that you know that they’re unique, and find and use quality writers. ?There are many terrible ones out there, so be specific in what you’re looking for. ?It would be best for you to create an outline, and give them as much of your own unique information as possible, and they can do the editing. Practice makes perfect, so the more you do this the better you get at it, and the more you’ll enjoy it and hopefully you’ll be able to do the writing yourself when you feel more confident.
  5. Keep the information original and ensure that it’s authentic. By authentic I mean even if you don’t write the article yourself and you are using a writer, be sure that it has your tone and originality. ?Let yourself shine through your ideas and thoughts. ?And maybe to do this you’ll need to actually edit each of your articles yourself, but this will give it your personal touch and probably improve the quality and readership. ?Remember that you’re building an audience online, so keep it real!
